Shirley Lenora Godbey
Shirley Lenora Godbey, 77, of Ruckersville, VA died on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Grace Health and Rehab of Greene. She was born on August 31, 1935 in Beckley, WV to the late Odie Sprag.
Mrs. Godbey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who devoted her life to her family and loved to spend her free time playing bingo.
She is survived by her children, Vickie Taylor of NC, Rick Harper and his wife, Fay of Ruckersville, VA, and Gary Harper and his wife, Pat of Ohio.
Additional survivors include her son-in-law, Keith Hartley of NC, her siblings, Elma, Annie, Barbara, Darlene and Deanie, special grandchildren, Shirley and Billy Taylor, special friend, Kay Carpenter, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Godbey and her daughter, Cora Hartley.
A private family interment will be held in WV at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Godbey’s name to the Madison-Greene Humane Society, PO Box 95 Ruckersville, VA 22968.
