MANTHORNE, Shirley Noreen (29)of Mcgaheysville died suddenly Monday, April 29, 2013 in Greene County, Virginia. She was a daughter of Arch and Wyna (Hart) Manthorne of Seal Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Noreen graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing receiving a Silver Medal, and was working toward her Masters while employed at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was quick to make friends, loved the outdoors and to travel, she cherished Seal Harbour.
In addition to her parents Noreen is survived by her boyfriend Kyle Schultz, McGaheysville; brothers, Rodney (Norma), Port Bickerton, NS, Calvert (Kim), Dartmouth, NS; sisters, Michelle (Don) Burke, Windsor, Ont., Loretta (Mike) Trealout, Truro, NS, Angela (Brian) Pelley, Seal Harbour, NS, nephews Hughie, Devin, Jake & Donavon, nieces April, Amy, Kyla, Janna, Jody, Paige, 1 great-niece, and maternal grandmother Claire Hart, Windsor, Ont.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Stanley and Theresa Manthorne.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 3 pm in Charlottesville at the Leonard Sandridge Auditorium in McKim Hall, University of Virginia.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in Seal Harbour United Baptist Church from where funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 pm with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating.
Interment will take place at a later time.
Memorial donations may be made to either the University of Virginia School of Nursing Alumni and Development Office or St. Francis Xavier University School of Nursing.
