Thomas F. Bresnahan, 74, of Stanardsville, VA died on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on January 24, 1938 in Washington, DC to the late John Alfred and Pauline Snyder Bresnahan.
Mr. Bresnahan enjoyed spending time in Hatteras, NC and Stuart, FL deep sea fishing, boating with his wife at Smith Mountain Lake and wood working. Most of all his love was in his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whose sweet nature and loving smile will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sallie Bresnahan, and four children, Tom Bresnahan and his wife, Nicole or Orange, VA, Meg Fisher of Louisa, VA, Tim Bresnahan and his wife, Robin of Ruckersville,VA and Pat Bresnahan and his wife, Kim of Friendship, MD.
Additional survivors include his sister, Peggy Jones of Lyndhurst, OH, his brother, John Bresnahan of Ocklawaha, FL, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Green and his grandson, Matthew Bresnahan.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 4 p.m. following the visitation with Rev. Mark Holder officiating.
