Vernon “Blair” Boyle, Sr.
Vernon “Blair” Boyle, Sr., 72, of Stanardsville, VA passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at his residence. He was born on August 12, 1942 in Johnstown, PA to the late Charles and Mary Engle Boyle.
Blair was a lifetime member of the Greene County Rescue Squad. He loved being outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting, cutting the grass or camping. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR, but most of all his love was in his family. He was a devoted husband for 52 years and a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Boyle and his children, Theresa Murphy and her husband, Michael, of MD, Vernon “Blair” Boyle, Jr. and his wife, Kim of TN, Daniel Boyle and his wife, Chantel of NH and Denise Boyle and her husband, Scott Lambert of MD.
Additional survivors include his siblings, Adella Richey and her husband, Bill of MD, Esther Stiles of PA, and Aleta Mezzo and her husband, Dennis of CT, 10 grandchildren, Chris, Nick, Destiny, Matt, Krystal, Hailey, Sam, Alex, Brittany and Shawn, 1 great grandson, Jude and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Boyle.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Jane Cicione officiating.
Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Patricia Boyle, PO Box 1176 Stanardsville, VA 22973.
