Walter Jesse Nimmo, Jr., went to be with our Lord on February 14, 2026. He was born on August 13, 1947, the son of the late Walter Jesse Nimmo, Sr., and Mary Naylor Nimmo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Shifflett, and a baby granddaughter, Tyler Montgomery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Nimmo; three wonderful children, Christine Montgomery, Marsha Thompson (Harry), and Walter Jesse Nimmo, III; one grandson, Quin Montgomery; and one sister, Linda Hughes.
Walter was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from VDOT in Culpeper and was a long-time member of Ruckersville Baptist Church. He loved working on the family farm and going on bus trips with his wife.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Ruckersville Baptist Church Samaritan Purse Project.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, beginning at 1:00 at Batten Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin promptly at 2:00. Interment will follow at Ruckersville Cemetery.
