William "Bill" A. Stump

William “Bill” A. Stump, II, 78, of Ruckersville, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at his home.

Bill was born October 30, 1943 in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of the late William A. Stump, Sr. and Pauline Lough Miller.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Powell Stump.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Stump; sisters, Diane Harbour (Dannie) and Mandy Blessing (Greg) and many other extended family members and friends.

Bill was a self-employed contractor in Greene County, Virginia for many years.  He was an active member of his community, serving as a member of the Stanardsville Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Stanardsville Town Council and the Greene County Fair Board.  He was very active in his daughter’s activities whether that was at a school function, 4-H or the Girl Scouts.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday, May 9, 2022 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Rockspring Cemetery in Pomeroy, Ohio, where his will be laid to rest with his late wife, Ernestine.
