Wilson Gilbert Morris

Wilson Gilbert Morris, 97, of Ruckersville, VA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.

He was born on September 18, 1921 in Elkton, VA, son of the late Ed Eurl Morris and Bessie Shifflett Morris.

Wilson was preceded in death by two sons, Harold (Bob) and Leroy Morris; three brothers, Otis, Omer and Joe Morris; two sisters, Edith Collier and Margaret Ruth Snow; one great-great granddaughter, Faith Marie Keegan

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Patterson Morris; two children Pastor Roger Morris and wife, Ginger of Stanardsville and Susan James of Ruckersville; three grandchildren Brenda Byers and husband, Eddie, Michael Priet of Ruckersville, and Amy Linkous of Essex, MD; four great-grandchildren Kari Keegan and husband, Tommy of Stanardsville, Erin McGhee and husband, Kameron of Ruckersville, Tori Linkous and husband, Tyler Hands of Essex, MD and Syiah Walker of Essex, MD; five great-great grandchildren Victoria Keegan, Kinslee McGhee, Levi McGhee, Thomas Keegan and Kayden Hands; and many other family members and friends.

Wilson had three children in Baltimore, MD, David Morris, Larry Morris and Readith Plumer.

His foster siblings included Early Morris, Edward Morris, Lena Shifflett, Christine Branham, Pauline Conley and surviving foster sibling, D.J. Lamb of Ruckersville.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968 with Pastor Eddie Byers officiating. Interment to follow at Ruckersville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
